A vacancy for a registered Biomedical Scientist Band 6 has arisen to join our innovative Histopathology Department, within Viapath Analytics.
The Histology department is based at Guy’s Hospital.
The department offers a comprehensive range of services to regional and national referring clinicians. The department processes a wide range of surgical specimens and incorporates a Immunohistochemistry and frozen sections as well as specimen dissection.
The department is fully computerised, has UKAS accreditation and is registered as a training laboratory, where continuing professional development is supported and actively encouraged.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Health Care Professions Council Registered Biomedical Scientist with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our team in the delivery of an expanding Head and Neck Pathology unit.
Suitable applicants must have prior a good background and experience in Histology, and previous experience in Biopsy Transfer, Special stains and Frozen Sections will be considered a plus.
The applicant will participate in the weekly rotation in the core laboratory duties will include administrative tasks, specialised scientific and technical duties, including microtomy, immunohistochemisty, frozen sections , assiting with cut up duties and performing routine histological investigations.
