Joining a supported 24/7 rota you will be gaining exposure to a fascinating and career defining caseload including women’s services, foetal medicine, acute and critical care medicine (ECMO specialist), cardiovascular surgery, Haematology and Oncology, Transplantation and where we’re based is also home to the Evelina Children’s Hospital and the Cancer Centre on the Guys site.
This exposure will enable you to reach your potential earlier, whilst enjoying a greater work life balance.
You will achieve this through rotations in all areas within Core Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
For you, this makes for a varied, interesting, extremely rewarding and balanced working life; no 2 days are ever the same!
You will be able to take advantage of our Innovation Academy and unparalleled supported access towards a variety of qualifications (e.g MSc, BBTS) and CPD activities. You won’t have to worry about a significant financial outlay, we will provide funds to support you.

You will be supported through the rota and won’t be asked to work alone, you will join a team of other established specialists over nights and weekends, in addition to day time duties.

A little about us:
Viapath’s Haematology & Blood Transfusion Laboratories are based at both Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, we’re also only minutes’ walk to the mainline stations, making your way back to home as swiftly as possible to unwind, or enjoy the local amenities.
We are UKAS accredited to ISO 15189 standards and are an IBMS accredited training laboratory for both Registration and Specialist Portfolios.
How you will qualify:
You will be an experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist, ideally having already completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Haematology and Hospital Transfusion or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
