We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.
Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.
The Cancer Genetics team at Guy's Hospital is one of the Genetics laboratories within the London South GLH laboratory hub based at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The service portfolio incorporates both cytogenetic and molecular genetic testing for patients with a wide range of adult solid tumours and haematological disorders designed to meet the clinical need and the requirements of the NHS England Cancer test directory. The service includes a substantial nationally and internationally renowned acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) minimal residual disease (MRD) monitoring service and has close links with the King’s College NHIR clinical trials AML MRD unit.
Due to service expansion an exciting opportunity has arisen for a HCPC registered Clinical Scientist to join the Cancer Genetics team; the ideal candidate will have experience of both cytogenetic and molecular genetic testing, although this is not essential. Considerable experience of working within a cancer genetic team and an in depth knowledge of cancer genomics is essential. The post holder will be expected to maintain a high level of accuracy and reliability with minimal supervision and will have the opportunity to participate in other aspects of the laboratory work including contribution to service development and R&D projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required in order to work effectively with other staff from the Cancer Genetics team and the wider Genetics service delivery unit.
Interviews will be held October 31, 2019
