Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital, Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, and Princess Royal University Hospital we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.
The Viapath Immunology Laboratory is one of the largest and busiest Immunology Labs in the UK. The laboratory service is accredited to UKAS (ISO15189) standards. This is a progressive laboratory, with a culture of continuous improvement. Teamwork is of utmost importance and personal development is encouraged, as we strive for excellence.
The successful applicant would join a team of Clinical, Scientific and support staff dedicated to providing an excellent service for our customers.
The laboratory has a wide repertoire of tests covering the disciplines of Autoimmunity, Allergy, Immunodeficiency and Monoclonal Gammopathies. A number of automated platforms are in use; ImmunoCAP 250, Quantalyser, Capillarys, Hydrasys, Optilite, Aquios, DS2, Euroblotmaster. Manual assays are also performed which include some ELISA, Immunofluorescence and Radioimmunoassay.
We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Scientist who can put their skills and experiences to good use in our busy laboratories. As one of a team of 8 Band 6 Biomedical Scientists you will be responsible for maintaining a high quality service at all times. Your expertise will be required in all sections of the lab, and training will be provided where experience is lacking. We are a forward thinking and growing service that invests in staff, innovation and development, in order to promote ourselves as the Choice for Pathology.
The opening hours of the laboratory are; Monday – Friday 08:00 – 19:30. There will be occasions when you will have to work outside of the core hours of 09:00 – 17:30. However, a standard 7.5 hour working day is in operation.
